Boehm named honorary citizen in Poland




Guenter Boehm of Herkimer was named an honorary citizen of Jedlina Zdroj, Poland, at a ceremony June 4 at the Palace Jedlinka there.

Jedlina Zdroj Mayor Leszek Orpel spoke of Boehm's family history and its contributions to the local history of Silesia, Boehm was presented with the certificate by City Council Chairman Romuald Wysocki.

The castle and manor Tannhausen (Palace Jedlinka) were part of the family estate belonging to Gustav Boehm, a major in the Prussian cavalry, who was Guenter Boehm's great-grand uncle.
